Thanks. Anything that is listed as a cable restraint will have a relaxing lock on it. The key is to set them where there are no entanglements. Southern Snares and Dakota Line Snares are two great places to get them from. Thanks for watching!

Cruel way to control vermin. But needs done sometimes, and you can't guarantee you will catch what your after. Grew up snaring salmon rabbits and foxes in Scotland. Deer are usually still alive and caught by foot. Cracking release love to see it👍

I feel your pain. Had a "run" of deer getting into snares one year. Craziest thing. Don't understand it really. Somehow they get their head that low in that particular spot to get the cable around their neck. Not had one caught in a snare in a few seasons, but I had a one break away the snare last year apparently. The Amberg release ferrule popped of the cable. I assume it was a deer that pop it off the cable. Love the channel and content. God Bless.

Hello cool release my Dad caught one years ago i helped him hold it down little spike we got him free!! Hey ever have any trouble with coyotes pulling out of #2 bridgers ? I just bought 3 of the 4 coil to get started again coyote trapping i saw a video a guy doesn't like the bridgers i see you have great luck with them . Any thoughts should I modify the jaws ? Thanks great channel!! Inspiring me to get back into this!! Chris

Hey Chris, thanks for checking out my channel! Deer releases are definitely out of the norm. When it comes to the bridgers, I think the only thing I have ever had pull out of one was deer. My #2’s are dogless offset. I love them. Had to tinker with them a bit, but they perform great. Best of luck to you. Tight chains brother!

What size cable where u using? And the breakaway was 260?
@LiveMoreOutdoors

The cable is 3/32” and is 1x19. The BAD was either 275 or 350. I have some of both.
@dougspizman6751
3 жыл бұрын
@@LiveMoreOutdoors i dont understand......if the breakaway is 350 then a deer would get hung in 1/16. Why a small coyote needs 3/32 but a deer can break 350lbs? I cant explain what im trying to say. LOL
@LiveMoreOutdoors
3 жыл бұрын
Just following our regulations. 3/32" is the smallest diameter we can use for cable restraints (live catch). A coyote would chew through a 1/16" cable in short order. The deer I have caught were small/med. size. Had big deer open a BAD earlier in the season.

Second year in a row in that area why don't you just pull the cable restraints from that area that way you don't get deer seems like you're having bad luck there just a matter of time before you go there and one strangled know then what are you going to do
@LiveMoreOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Hi John. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter where I set cables. The deer are there. 99.9% of the time, they just walk through and knock the cable down. I've had it happen a lot. If the cable restraint is properly constructed, and it is set within PA regulations, it is highly unlikely to have an animal strangled. I do my best to maintain equipment and follow these regs. In the unfortunate event it does happen, I'll call the Game Commission and report it. If I'm found to be at fault, whether through equipment or improper setting, I'll face the consequences.
