I used a door for my bench top also. Also by a dumpster, it was one from our office with 10’ tall doors. CJ seems like a great guy.

Wow, 200.19x at 600 is quite a big deal. It shows how accomplished he is over a short time. There is so much information and training available on line these days, it’s much easier than 20 years ago to get better and with better equipment. I like CJ’s set up as it’s simple but high quality equipment. You don’t see many using the primal rights primer seater. Thanks for sharing John, great interview.

What a great interview. A very insightful young man. He will do very well in the sport. In just looking at his reloading room you can see how methodical and organized he is. There’s a lot to be said for learning to shoot with your Grampa 😁👍

Great video, I have refined so many of my processes by watching John and Eriks videos. As for the final neck lube and sizing what speeds it up for me is Hornady one shot sprayed on a quetipp. It’s maintains consistent seating pressures and super fast.

Another great video John. Thanks for these. Please remember to do the call outs of the various equipment especially the little do dads. I learn as much from whats lurking in the background as whats said by the person being interviewed

My bench is looking the same way as of last night I finally received my A&D 120 & AutoTrickler V3 with all the Area 419 accoutrements last night. There are cardboard boxes and packaging everywhere. I definitely need to clean the reloading room it’s very cluster F’ed lol. I need to figure out what kind of bolt gun I want. As of right now I have a Aero M5E1 with a Krieger barrel and matching JP bolt. I’m currently shooting Sierra 168gr over CFE223 and it shoots lights out. But I want to go longer but like you said John I need to find a good person that’s better then me.

Nice simple set-up, young man seems to be doing very well, good on him! Was interested to see no Giraud trimmer, was wondering about his trimming process. Another great reloading room video, very interesting stuff!

Good question. I don't remember seeing one but I know he still shares some equipment like an AMP with his grandpa so I'm guessing he uses something like Giarud over at his house.

I absolutely love these videos, but I have to ask... what is the constant, repetitive tapping sound that kicks in whenever John is talking? I've heard it across multiple videos now. I'm assuming something like a cable or strap attached to the camera and it's slapping up against whatever tripod or mount you've got the camera on?

John, or someone, please tell me why you guys seat on an arbor press, and the advantage over a regular press.
@kriswilson5400
3 жыл бұрын
Some shooters find an arbor press will provide more sensitivity in bullet seating - the ability to detect pressure spikes when seating, plus it is arguable that an arbor press may produce less bullet runout. Personally I haven't seen a notable difference but other shooters opinions may vary.
@N5KDA

@@kriswilson5400 Thanks, I use an old Pacific (Hornady) press I've had since 1984. I measure runout, and at worse I see about two thou. Most are no more than one thou, while others are spot on. I just start to seat the bullet, drop the ram and spin the case. I seat the bullet in three small steps and turn it once more and run it all the way back in. I can see more feel while seating with the arbor. While loading last night though, I marked eight rounds as "tight" and four as loose. My SD runs around six most of the time, as long as I don't mix thins up. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Where is his Giraud? I can not accept that he does not have one with that setup. Lol. We have so much PRS here and no F-Class. I never realized that it was the other way around on your side of the country.
