Can I ask where you got your metal mag for your LAR8? I would love to give my rounds a little more COAL breathing room. Also this video series is amazing, I have been loading for years and still picked up on a few little tricks. I wish I would have seen this early on in my loading, could have saved myself some serious headache lol. Thanks

I'm late to the party, forgive me :-) I've been reloading for 10 years but mainly high volume pistol, "blastin" 308, and some higher accuracy 308. I'm dialing in my 308's, Colt competition and RPR 6.5 creedmore since .750 MOA just isn't good enough. 3 questions for you. 1. Die brands- I've been using Lee, was going to move to Hornady Match bushing dies. Thoughts vs. Redding? Any data to back up the difference? 2. Crimp- I've been using the Lee "factory crimp" die for 308 Autos (AR-10 pattern) and my bolt gun. Your thoughts on crimp/no-crimp on a bolt gun? 3. Primers, I've been using CCI #34 and #41 "Military" primers in my autos. Thoughts versus standard primers or BR2/BR4? It looks like you are using 200/400 in bolt and autos.

I can’t tell ya what to do, I can only tell ya what I do. I personally like Redding. They are super high quality especially their dial seaters. I don’t crimp. Only thing I crimp is straight wall and pistol ammo. As for the primers I’ve used the BR2 but i only see marginal improvements if any IMO.. Maybe I’d use them if I was benchrest shooting but I’m not.

@@ElfstersRiflesandReloading any issues with slam fires in your RR autos? Not sure if they have a firing pin spring or not.

No I don’t. Bolt / BCG nice and clean where the fire pin is? Could be a resized headspace issue too

Nice job! I pretty much reload the same way as you do with one exception. I like to double check every 5 rounds or so, sometimes more often sometimes less with a balance beam scale and then trickle to the balance beam if needed. I love Varget but have found it to drop somewhat inconsistent in the chargemaster while with a powder like TAC it seem to be a little more consistent when I drop it and can use either the Chargemaster or a simple powder thrower and check in on a balance beam every few rounds. Maybe I'm being a little over anal but for my precision rifles in .308, .260 and 300 win I like to eliminate all variables. Again, great job on the videos!

thanks!!! you know I've always been itching to try TAC because I hear nothing but good things about it!! I'll have to give it a try! thanks for the input and I love hearing about how others reload and I like trying other people's methods too. best way to learn and improve :)
