I laughed when you said liquid milk, because when someone says milk I naturally assume it’s liquid and not powder. Unless they specify powder. I understand why you say that because When my sister travelled to Nigeria, she said they struggled to find “liquid milk” 😂 She loved it there more than Kenya and though. Btw, here in the U.K. we do struggle with the chilli in Nigerian food, it takes time to get used to. However, we have similar soups, stew, just cooked in a different way using different spices / ingredients. I think Nairobi is abit different because of the small number of Muslims and large number of Kenyans who cook bland tribal food. In my family we make stew, soup and not always plain rice. The food you eat in Nairobi represents kikuyu and perhaps luo cuisine. Swahili and Nubian food use spices and not bland at all. We prepare chilli sauce separately because we also consider small kids. Nigerians in the U.K. feed their small kids very spicey food until they get used to it. Initially the kids tend to dislike the chilli . That’s why in Kenya it’s a bit different.

Yeah, actually the word "Nairobi" is a Maasai word for a cold place. The current land where Nairobi is situated was a native land for the Maasai people. They realised over time how the water of the Nairobi river was and hence referred to it as "enkare nairobi" translated "cold water". The colanial government dropped the first word and retained the second and thus the name "Nairobi".

Fun Video. "Mama there's no soup in Kenya" 😂. What you guys call soup we call stew. To us soup is broth or made from meat and/or bones. The stew with meat, peas and potato is from Mt. Kenya region and most other Kenyans don't like it that much. Most stews countrywide will be made with beef or chicken or in some cases lamb, fish or goat meat, one may add veg of choice or cook separately. And yes we don't mix meats in one pot 😅😉.
@jamidesutv

@@jamidesutv whatever stew you eat alongside your starch of choice, in Swahili, we call it kitoweo. Local languages have different names for it... Cabbage is simply cabbage lol.... We dont do swallow, where you need soup. And u can "hide" alot in soups and peppe...who will know? Multiplying and rebranding same foods doesn't make it "variety ". We know you. Still i subscribe.

I am surprised you are trying to force yourself so much onto Kenyan mainstream culture when your leanings are obviously with the failed shithole state next door. I would advise you to let Kenyans represent themselves. When someone makes a vlog about Mogadishu by all means jump in. Don't be a camel trying to hard to enter our Kenyan tent.
