great video man thanks a lot! i have one question i saw in the comments that you recommended the Audio Technica 140XP is this a good turntable to start with mixing techno?

These RP4 are good enough to start mixing techno. 140XP is good too. You can start mixing techno on any of these and as you progress start looking for a more serious device (or continue to use these if you will like them).

Hi mate, great review. I recently got a pair of these, but I don’t think. The ortofon stylus they came with is very good, which do you recommend at a sensible price? Cheers.

Mk7 is trash and overpriced. Get the Reloop 7000. I just paid 250€ for a mint+ 7000 Mk1 with system. Its beautiful, well made and sounds good on my Prime4.

@@champain7357I just finished watching it. First of all, I watched many reviews of the RP4000MK2, but this was the best one! It was so honest and well detailed. By the way, I think I will buy them. I am only 20 years old and I don't have enough money for the Technics, however my desire to mix Trance on vinyl is so big that I can accept the compromise of the digital pitch (thank you for pointing that out). In the future, when I will have more money, I will consider buying the Technics. Thank you again!

If you will add slightly more euros i would suggest you to buy new version of Audio Technica 140XP (i would take silver!). It seems they are based on Hanpin model used in production of RP7000/PLX1000 but with some parts from 4000.

@alexinthemix00 4000 did not come with the needle and headshell. Not sure if they do now but i doubt it. 2000 did come and it was fine needle for beginner level, no issues.

Great review! Would love to see a video with the Reloop RP7000MK2 versus the Technics 1210 MK2 & MK7. I have the 7000's myself. Love them but they can be a little difficult for longer mixes. If you could post link to mixes on the RP4000 also.

Just Technics on his channel already did what you are looking for regarding rp7. Rp4 mix link is in the review description, mix itself is "non public". There is also mix on rp2000, my first pair of decks. It is here on the channel. :)

Hi! I recently purchased a similar used record player in perfect condition like this one. It was the Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB. I really believe that these turntable models (Reloop, Audio-Technica, Lenco, Akiyama, Pioneer...) are made by the same manufacturer with only the different brands and models and with minimal details or options. Looking at your review, I think they have the same problems, except the auto-skating and arm lift, which Audio-Technica works fine on the unit I bought (the auto-skating works but not with the manufacturer's correct precision, and I've seen some reviews on KZitem where they don't work well), and it also has the tone arm height riser. But anyway, I bought the turntable mainly to digitize my vinyl collection, because I've been DJing with a Traktor Kontrol for a long time. After three weeks I decided to sell it (I sold it for the same price I bought it :-)) ) because like the Reloop RP4000MK2, the platter (which is exactly the same as the RP4000MK2), the motor noise and poor insulation static, caused a lot of noise when turning the platter (as in the RP4000MK2) and sound frequencies in the recordings, mainly in intros/outros and passages with few instruments. Furthermore, when you put your hand towards the turntable, even if you didn't touch it, it already emitted static frequencies (bzzzzzzz), etc. Seeing that I don't want to spend more than €350 because I really only want it to digitize vinyls and listen to them sporadically (once digitized I listen to them on a computer with iTunes, Traktor, etc.) and that all the direct drive models at these prices are really the same model with a different brand, I think the option to avoid engine noise will be to buy one with a belt drive, that has a ground connection. I didn't know about the Pitch, but looking at your review I don't know if it will be necessary, since if they have these alterations, I won't be able to regulate the speed well either (although in the AT-LP120-USB that I bought it was almost perfect according to the RPM measurement with an iPhone). Thanks for sharing this video.

Thanks for this detailed comment, i like that! For your purposes you can buy new at lp140xp, it is still hanpin but it has a different motor and no bzz noise. There is a comparison video on youtube showing exactly that.

They are basically identical. Older 120 has a plastic body, not sure about the newer edition. RP has metal on top. If that matters -> 4000

They're great for turntablism. You dont need super fine pitch and the motor and arm is decent enough. With digital vinyl the boominess doesn't matter. Miss mine, were great fun

I find them unstable in cueing. Often have needle skips at any antiskate position. I guess if you add tons of weight it might solve the issue but i try to keep vinyl in good condition.

@@champain7357 ah, digital vinyl again. Sounds like they're a bit of a nightmare for actual records. But then when you're scratching you're kind of wrecking the records anyway. They were a little skippier than my old ones, but I've never had the real deal Technics, so I dunno what I'm missing
