Montreal’s Réseau express métropolitain/Metropolitan Express Network (REM) cost more, took longer than expected, and has had a rocky start to service. So is this automated light rail still good? I took a trip to Montreal to find out, and I’m blown away by how modern the system is. This is the future of transit, and we’re taking a close look only on NCT.
Running between Brossard and Gare Centrale, the REM makes intermediate stops at Du Quartier, Panama, and Île-des-Soeurs (Nun’s Island). Eventually, three branches will serve suburbs to the west and north and the airport. For more information please visit: rem.info
This is Episode 5 of the Canadian Rail Series by NCT.
