I was arrested with Patricia, Jan Hartsough, my sister Diane Thomas-Glass & around a thousand others in Livermore. I wore pictures of my young children during this action because I was doing it for them & future generations. We’d expected to be charged with trespassing & released but then-Gov Reagan decided to make an example of us & put us all in jail. We were offered quick release if we signed a statement giving up our First Amendment Right to free speech for two years. A group of us refused & were kept jailed for 11 days after which they finally got tired of waiting for us to sign away this crucial Right & let us out. We went to trial as the Livermore 21. Charges against me were dismissed (my husband was a KGO talkshow host & probably was seen as having some power) but those living a more alternative lifestyle , ie, openly gay, were found guilty of trespassing & sentenced to time served. I’m incredibly grateful for Patricia, Di, David, Jan, Finley, Dan and so many others (my husband tops this wonderful list). We did make a difference - I just wish it was a permanent one. Oh well, many seeds were planted. I love y’all 😍😘💕❤️❤️❤️
