I have a 760 in .308 that was my father's. I did not realize that they made a 760 in .300 Savage. I have a Model 99 that was my Mother's Dad's in .300 Savage that is fantastic. Shoots my cast bullets and reloads wonderfully. Dad's .308 shoots the cast and reloads really well too. I also have an NEF single Handi Rifle in .308 that handles the cast and reloads as well!

I used to have one of these chambered in 300 Savage that was made in 1954, I ended up selling it because the rifle recoiled almost just as hard as my other 760 in 30-06 but the 300.Savage ammo cost $15 / box more. And that was before 2020.

Really? Mine even with handloads has half the recoil of my .30-06 rifles.

The side mount rail allows you to use those irons when the prey appears up close or is hauling tail. Awesome info and beautiful rifle! What loads were you using? It doesn’t appear to be rocking you the way my remi blowback .300S did me. I was using factory Remington cor lokt that used to be available at Walmart. I would think a pump action should have more felt recoil than a blow back

@@MovieMaker225 now I really wish I hadn’t traded it. I had Mosins and Mausers at the time idk why I remember it have horrendous felt recoil.

@@BigBoyRabbit420 today was the first time I had the opportunity to try this cartridge and I think its perfect for a woods deer rifle. Mild recoil, slick action, and respectable power for whitetail deer.
