Nice Now, modify the loading gate (carrier / shell lifter) with the Browning version to eliminate the need to push in the bolt release button to load a shell.

It looked like you were able to depress the cartridge lifter without pressing the bolt release button. On my Model 11 (Remington), I have to press the button to load every round. It looks like I might be able to file part of the plate that contacts the lifter. How does your Remington Model 11 load?

Sweet. You do nice work. You might consider sealing that wood up underneath with urethane or something to prevent that oil absorption issue you mentioned. Just a thought. I'm in the process of rebuilding my lathe. I should have gotten some 'before pics' but I didn't think of it. It's gonna be sweet in the end though. It's very rewarding emotionally to tear down and rebuild something.

Got it looking good! I thought about doing this to my model 11 but I don’t know, looks cool but don’t know if it is worth the trouble...after seeing yours I am thinking about it some more. These model 11s were very popular with the Old Chesapeake Bay market hunters, years ago I saw one with a homemade magazine extension, probably made it a 10 shot, the gun was painted white which was common Bet that gun shot a few wagon loads of ducks.

No kidding; you'll need to replace the whole tube, or modify the existing one.

Slick rig man, I just got into the Remington model 11, and I must say, it's a fun gun to do things to... Old school, decently priced for what you get, I'm making 3 types, a trench type with a plus 2, a whippet type, chopped stock n all, no extension, and a 3 gun long barreled long extensioned animal... All with 2 piece carriers, on the trench I wanted to come up with an idea on how to put a heat shield on it, so it "floats" over the barrel, still letting it actuate, but protecting your hand from getting burnt, and also letting you grab the gun however you want, because let's say you pick it up in a hurry and grip the barrel and fire, it'll short stroke and cause a malfunction, this way it'll fire however you hold it... And I think it would look absolutely gnarly with a "cage" humped over the barrel

Get you an electroless nickel plating kit from Caswell and refinish that shotgun. If you really want it to look top notch, polish the metal down with successively fine polishing compounds to where it has a fine polish before plating it. The nickel plating will come out looking like a mirror.

I'm gonna do this to my late dad's Remington 1100 12ga. with 28 in. barrel so the 10 rd. extension tube from Carlson's should work just fine with the tube coming out level with the barrel at the end with the metal bracket attached for solid support !!!! I'm wondering with my other 1100 with the 25 1/5 in. barrel which extension should I get the 7 or 8 rd. tube extension to where it comes out flush at the end of the barrel ? First things first I guess one project at a time I suppose !!!

You need to restore that back to orignial. That gun if you were smart enough to check value sells of over $1500.00 used they copied that after J.M.Brownings Auto 5 . The Model you have was only made a few years. Browning sued Remington for patent infringment.

Nope not even close. Browning had remington build them. They have the Browning patents right on the barrel. Google is your friend.
