My younger brother has the 341-P with scope that Dad left to him. His has a sling and is in excellent condition!

Great review. Good job on the sight. I love the mechanism on this rifle.

It’s a interesting one. I like how it locks and lifts and inserts the round. I noticed the benefit of this type of mechanism is the lack of bullet deformation. This is good on a target rifle.

I was shooting mine today. I had no idea I had such a gem worth that much, a friend of mine gave it to me for borrowing him money for a down payment on a truck he was buying years back. Mine still has the original rear peep with the nut on the side actually being another size peep to swap out to the other. The front sight on mine is a pillar if that makes sense. The top of the pillar is a little defined as a bead to the front sight.i pulled out some shooting bags and wanted to see how tight i could get a group. Out of 3 five shot groups my first was the smallest being 1.25” at about 50yds! the others were about 1.5” I quite surprised myself. Very cool old target rifle! Very nice work on the rear sight reproduction!

The ones I price checked started around $250-275 for rough condition and upward of $375 for nice ones. The rear sight alone was roughly half the price of the rifle or a little more.

@@SmithFarmandOutdoorsjust got a near new one for 200 bucks! The dropped it once or something and unknowingly scratched up the barrel a little.. so it rusted a tadddd but nothing bad at all (that I can’t take care of). This is something I hope to have around for a long time, I love older firearms.

I have one also and it is in pretty good shape as original. It has been shot very little in the last 50yrs other than a couple of garden pirate ground hogs. A fellow worker all but begged me buy it for $20 in about 1970. Guess i got my moneys worth. Love the peep sight and too bad newer guns dont come with them

If you bought that for $20, that’s amazing. It is an interesting and well built rifle. I’m about to 3D print a new front sight. The only one I have is the round one that covers up the target. That’s the only thing I don’t like about it. I was also recently gifted a scope and mounts but the mounts don’t fit the rifle. Still looking for the original mounts.

It is a decent shooting rifle. The tube feed is ok. You can shoot shorts, Longs or Long Rifles out of it. I think it holds over twenty 22 shorts. The lift mechanism that loads the rounds works great.

I inherited my grandfathers 1937 September build 341P back in 2005. Tac Driver. I need to shoot it more. Steel and wood. Loads like a battleship.

I thought the firing pin was broken on my 341. But it just needed to be cleaned and oiled. I didn't know anything about this gun when I bought it at a gun show 25 years ago. But it looked like a good dead at $125, so I got it.

I've been looking for one of these to go along with my model 34 which is the same basic rifle with the exception of the safety and the peep sight . They are very accurate rifles and that lifting mechanism is the main reason as the bullet goes in the chamber without touching any feed ramp so no damage to the projectile .

You’re correct. Start with good match grade ammo and you’re set for a good shooting experience.

Glad u've maintained the iron sights. Too many rifles now a dayz come w/o them and they look bare n awful. Peeps r great in the wooded, quicker shooting than a scope. Yah, the apertures, the frnt n bk s/b exchanged based on the ambient light conditions. For the bright day long range shootings, smaller is better esp. for accuracy. I dink the apertures were of American invention, was very effective during the WWII. More reliable (don't fog, mo resilient against dinging, etc). Thx 4 the video.

I have a 3D printer now. I was going to create a set of factory front apertures but I found a set someone else has already designed. All I’ve got to do is print them. I think I’d prefer a simple sight post instead of the circle.

Thanks. It’s kinda cool. 84 years old and still shoots great. It is aged quite a bit but I decided not to mess with the blueing or wood stock. I just cleaned it up, lubed it, made the missing parts and shoot it. The sights are set a bit low as shown in the video but that’s an easy fix. I had originally shot it at 25 yards or so. Can’t remember exactly.
