I saw a really good entrepreneurial idea with getting your own contracts for support work. Remote work is gonna spoil these employers with no overhead other than maintaining their own servers.

Great video man!! Thank you for posting. I am currently enrolled in a 2 year IT program that started 3 months ago and I am going to be doing the CompTiaNetwork + and A+ certification exam soon, I was hoping to get a remote job part-time, I hope that my 3 languages (French, Spanish and English) and my 14 years of B2B sales could help me find a job in IT since I'm still a student. Thank you for your video. Cheers!

I had to literally get 120 users remote ready 2 days before shut down and still supporting them from home. We also had no choice but to migrate our users to gsuite from on prem ad/azure hybrid setup (file server and email) because our firewalls at the office were just not able to handle the load of 120 users at once. Never done this before and it was all a successful migration. I hope this experience helps me with potential future jobs and I LOVE working remote!

On Communication: the book “How to talk to Anyone” by Leil Lowndes is an incredible resource if you have trouble with general antisocial things! Tons of icebreaker techniques and even more ways to keep conversations going & psychology that helps people see you as a friend. Available on Audible too, she’s a great narrator!

I have been doing remote help desk for the Bank of America since the covid-19 thing broke out, it is not fun. Sitting at my home office for 8 hour straight with a 15 min morning break 30 min lunch and a 15 min afternoon break. You put in more hours at home than in the office becuase they cut meetings, training, breaks and lunches becuase they think you have more time because of no commute. System Admin would be much better but help desk is like sitting at an assembly line putting things in boxes.

Question for you. I'm currently enrolled at my local community college for IT: Cyber Security. I'm also currently in the middle of the Google IT Cert course. After that I'm planning to dive into Professer Messer's course work for my A+ cert. Would you say that Part Time remote help desk work is very abundant? I'd like to get some experience while I'm in school and working full-time but part time remote work seems about the only doable way I can squeeze all this into my schedule.

Ik this is an old video but are there any IT jobs that dont require a lot of communication? I'm autistic and I've spent my entire life trying and failing at communicating effectively/without unintentionally upsetting others. I had a question, not sure if this is the place to post it or if you reply to individual posts. I have a masters in librarianship and am hoping to get an IT degree to supplement this degree. Right now I am thinking data science (which to me, seems like a combination of coding, pattern discernment, search techniques and problem solving) or cybersecurity ('ethical hacking'). I moved to a rural area and am looking for remote work off the bat. My question is twofold: do you think either of these careers is a viable option remotely, and do any degrees or online certs stand out as ones I should aim for? I know you've mentioned that degrees are more powerful than certifications, but some certs, such as Flatiron, offer a money back guarantee. Thanks!

Hey. Been watching your channel for a while now. I'm totally interested in this field. However I have a felony conviction. And before you ask it is serious. I did time. I've received AA degrees while incarcerated. I've been thinking of finishing my education with a Information Technology Degree. But I need to ask... Am I wasting my time? I mean Walmart took my job offer away after a background check. I understand that I won't get anything that requires a security clearance. Schools, government and hospitals are probably out of the question too. I'm not looking for any judgment from you guys but looking for some real guidance. I love tech and computers have always facinated me but I don't want to waste my time either. I have spoken to some people in the field but they were all at the college and I feel they might have been just leading me on to keep me going to class. Do any of you guys no felons in the field. Would you hire someone who is qualified but has a past? I appreciate any response but please be respectful. Thanks

Google 'getting into IT with a felony conviction''. It''s possible, but can be frustrating. Possibilities including starting up you own small company, even as a small side job while workign in a totally different field. If you get years of depending work history it could help you. Also be frank with why you did what you did, and how you reformed yourself. I do believe everyone deserves a second change assuming they are sincere with themselves. Not saying you are not, but I have come across a few and a number of supposedly reformed drug and alcohol addicts who eventually resort to default mode. Those type of people are extremely difficult to work with. It will take you many years before you can get that managerial position where your past will be looked up as an example of someone who has overcome.
