I'm an xDSL/Ethernet guy over here in the UK so the RF stuff (especially RFoG - this is mindblowing to me!) is fascinating. Many similarities though, and I had to laugh at the CCAP vs CMTS, which is similar to how people refer to DSLAMS vs MSANS (DSL access multiplexer vs Multi Service Access Node) - they call it an MSAN even though they're just doing DSL :) I still prefer DSLAM and CMTS as terms. Thanks for the videos. I'm working my way through your channel, and thankfully, a lot of my knowledge is transferrable so even without any real exposure to DOCSIS/cable networks, I understand the content and also share the challenges. The way you explain things really helps here too, so thanks again.

:) Yes he did. We are thinking about a "Go fund me page" to pay for high speed Internet for him and get him off of dial-up :p

Hi John - best recommendation for a solid VPN is OpenVPN using Amazon AWS. You own the VPN and can change the IP of the endpoint anytime you like. Cost is less than $30 / month. Just Google "openvpn aws" and you will get lots of how-tos.
