Unless you're some contrarian naturalist, which clearly you aren't because here you are, on the internet, there isn't a single part of your life that isn't tangentially part of the digital realm. You can access more information and resources than you'll ever be able to interact with in one lifetime, and most of it is free if you know where to look. Global trade, education, resource acquisition, medical services, skill certification, finance, NONE of that is nearly as efficient and easy without the internet. If you think it's so bad then leave, but you won't because you know what you're giving up. This reminds me of the European introduction of liquor to North America. It's an extremely sad history of how native communities in America were negatively impacts by the sudden introduction of high percentage alcohol as these cultures had not "grown with" the stronger alcohol, leading to no cultural taboos associated with it. Some groups had to kick out individuals who became strongly addicted, personalities changed, and families and strong social bonds were torn apart. Europeans would take advantage of the addiction use alcohol to make extremely unfair trades. Wikipedia has a thorough account of the history.

Many go off to work in cities to sell goods, many have access to technology, even the most remote of them, the notion that those living in tribes are fully remote jungle-restrained societies is just not true. *Editing this to say, there are actually isolated tribes, but they are the minority as far as I can tell, and I'm not trying to say saying that they don't exist in case there was any confusion in regards with my wording. @@everettduncan7543 or tbh just bad experiences with diseases from outside that the tribe isn't immune to. That's why the tribe on North Sentinel Island (the people who killed that missionary with arrows, because he was trying to go to the island illegally and make contact with them) is secluded/isolated by choice. That tribe has lost a lot of people to Western/foreign diseases in the past. So reacting to most potential visitors, especially strangers, with hostility is a self-defense tactic for them, because otherwise people won't keep leaving them alone and letting them physically self-isolate. (I think there's a team of researchers who the tribe sometimes allows to visit the island and observe them, but even they're not allowed to get too close; the researchers don't necessarily even leave their boats.)

I believe that there IS a tribe out there that is essentially fully-cut out and respond to any outsiders with threats. They're not from Brazil, but I know they became a huge thing online because they k¡ll3d a christian white guy that essentially wanted to colonize them. It's a hard topic to navigate, because there's definitely many cultural things at play. But in general, going from 0-100 on something does make it really hard to manage. Take alcohol. That has ravaged indigenous communities that went straight from nothing to hard liquor, and they didn't have the cultural controls in place of Europeans (who had been consuming alcohol for over a thousand years).

Expose someone to an ideology and boom you see someone displaying 50 years history in a few months. Again though it's because genetically we have the same brain as we did thousands of years ago humans think like humans. Again tho These tribes were no stranger to Internet or techno, it's common for tribes in parts of central and south America that avoided genocide. Think of it like Appalachia communities up in the Mountains where it's people just vibing but because of the outside world it pays to send a kid to get educated and have them grow into a sort of tribal liaison. That's how its become more common to see tribes wearing clothes, it gets hot and it makes sense to be naked but come on, at least a bugs bunny tee shirt for a breezy morning isn't going to collapse a culture. positive effect of the modern missionary model at least the ones that are true to their intent is that provided a positive relationship between tribes and their curiosity of the outside world. Elders are always worried about the tribe dissolving due to the youth moving away and that's a legit risk, but if you can get high speed Internet in the woods why would you move to the city and pay for it yourself with a higher ping when the liaison goes to pay for it each month on the tribal account and can pick up your case of prime at the same time.

I relate to these people (kind of). Im from a small island in Micronesia. (I'm in the United States tho). We are aware that there's more to the world than just our island, but we just couldn't communicate with the world on our island. The bigger islands are more developed and connected to the world. In 2021, internet was brought to my island as well as other islands in the country. One thing I noticed with my people is they just don't get that "what goes on the internet stays on the internet." Like they'll go live, filming drama that should be kept in their household. It's already shameful to take family problems out of the house. Then when things calm down, they'll apologize to each other and go back and delete it. But it's like, people already seen it, screen recorded it, and shared it with the world. You might as well keep it up there.
