Hi Serge. Looks really terrific. I’ve been playing with Final Cut background removal tool I am curious what is your camera’s ISO setting. Thanks, Rowby

I want to do videos in a small room that's also used as a bedroom, with a closed door, a large wooden piece of furniture and other items in the background. I'm trying to avoid making changes to the room. But I cannot use this background and expect to look professional. I will be sitting at my desk, recording myself with a good WebCam, probably FaceCam Pro from Elgato through the Elgato prompter. I'll be sitting in a black chair. I do not currently have Final cut pro but would be willing to buy it if I can make that work and remove the cluttered background and replace it with a background of my choice with me sitting in the black chair and talking to the camera. I can light up the room with ceiling lights for the clean Image, but during my recordings the lighting would be different, nowhere near as bright, and with different lights. Is this possible? What kind of issues would I run into? Thank you for all your great videos. They are helping me toward my decision to move up from iMovie.

HI Serge, I loved this video, it made me subscribe and watch more of your stuff. I still have an issue: after background is removed, how to be able to scale up / down, move with trackers around the screen etc. Currently, if an item, person or animation is moved just 1 mm on the screen, it just disappears. Any tip for workaround?

Hi Serge. Great Video! Once I put scene removal on the video, FCP becomes really slow. How do I mitigate this problem? I figure this is because FCP has to constantly calculate the scene removal, so maybe making it permanent can help? Can I make the effect permanent with my original video by creating a compound clip?

This is awesome, I was just about to buy the keyper plug in but it looks like this does what I was after. Is there any more features with the keyper plug in or is it just a smoother version of this? Appreciate your vids they are really helping to take my videos up a notch. 😊

I brought the keyper like a week before this was released. I only used it like once though. Keyper you can achieve this look without placing it on a tripod and you have more feathering options.

I bought Keyper a few months ago, and it's better than Scene Removal except, of course, it costs money. I also have an El Gato pull up green screen and it's better than both of them 🙂

@@martinXY that's what I thought , having green screen cutting down production costs.

@@toughcoding I also have to cart the green screen around and light it properly, but it does give a great result. Also, the El Gato green screens aren't very tall.

@@toughcoding Had a bunch of interview clips today with each interviewee up against a beige wall (what passes for white in a house. Clotted cream or something). The walls often had marks, even cracks in the paint. Short clips, no empty reference frames at all. Drop Keyper on, duplicate clip, drop it underneath, turn Keyper off that one, drop on Gaussian blur. Perfect wall. 👌

Cool tut, Serge. I have a question: What is the orange line (near the bottom of your clips in the browser window? Is that how you tell how much of the clip you've used?

Yes. They’re called Used Media Ranges

nice to see this tech moving forward ... i think the keeper plugin is like $99 ,,, they must be in a panic. .... problem with either one is motion is not your friend .... when you wave at the camera .., it's pretty cringe worthy .... there are of course situations where this will be effective and a super timesaver .... thanks Serge, another great tutorial

Tech moving forward? Dude, just take a look at Da Vinci's magic mask. If you've never heard of it, you'll be shocked. This scene removal mask is a joke.

Is Scene Removal Mask limited to humans? Being able to use it on product shots might give it an advantage over Keyper in those situations.
@Serge1913
Жыл бұрын
No it isn’t. You can you it for product shots as well
@seecraig

@@Serge1913 Great to hear. For most product shots it's very easy to have a "clean slate" shot at the head or tails of a shot. So many examples are of a person, which Keyper may handle better. Product shots may be FCP's tool advantage though.

This feature is a total and utter embarrassment. While Da Vinci has Magic mask, we have this stuff, which feels like from a decade ago or something. As much as I love Final Cut, every time I need to mask anything I go with that footage to Da Vinci.
