Good stuff, even 3 years later. Also, I appreciate the speed at which you deliver it. :)

I think I never would have had the idea to switch the blend mode of the healing brush to "Replace". That's brilliant, because in normal mode, more often than not I've observed a kind a smudging appearing at the edges of the brush strokes, and that usually destroys the realistic look of the retouching. Great info, thanks!

Awesome video Nathaniel. I haven't really seen any other really good tutorials on youtube like this one. Would have to say probably the best Stray hair removal video I've seen. Keep up the awesome work Nathaniel. Really have been enjoying your content.

+tutvid - Hey Nathaniel ... did you notice that when you switch the mode to Replace that Diffusion levels are nullified out? Only seems to work when you're set to Normal. Also, you should check out "Use Legacy algorithm for Healing Brush" in the settings. Really prefer the outcome when that's set over the newer one.

I've been thinking about doing a Legacy algorithm vs. New algorithm video. It's interesting to see. Thanks for the comment, bro!

Am I right in thinking, that if you change the Mode from normal to Replace the diffusion will not make a difference? The setting itself disappears as soon as you change the Mode. I've tested it by going from Normal + Diffusion 1 to Replace and then Normal + Diffusion 7 to Replace and got the exact same results.

I've been consistently learning new tips and tricks from watching your videos and slowly trying to incorporate them into my videos. There are so many things I want to improve on -baby steps, but if you had just a few minutes and could watch my newest video and provide me just a few new things you think I should focus on that would be awesome. kzitem.info/news/bejne/xYKKl6iorp1jnno

This is very useful because the background is white, if you took the picture with a complex background you're done.
@tutvid

Not true. You would simply switch the healing brush to the standard healing mode. Complex backgrounds can be easier because there is a lot more stuff that can be blended together. With a solid color background, the slightest bit that the color is off or if there is additional noise/artifacting, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
