The #OneThingToKnow about the book publishing ecosystem?
It is evolving.
Getting published by one of the Big Five publishers carries a lot of social (and financial) weight.
Going to an Independent publisher is perceived as this last resort (of sorts).
It absolutely isn't.
This perception around how one gets published - that is changing.
The one conversation I want the industry to have is about stigma around being service providers.
Making and then publishing quality literature is an act of service.
Some just happen to charge for it.
Independent publishers, Traditional Publishers, Hybrid Publishers - all are service providers.
Why not embrace the service vibe and run with it?
Why look up to or down on certain options?
