Support the control arm w/ a jack or piece of wood. Much less stress on arm and comes out easier. Your slamming down on shaft stop on shock or strut. Don't be a hack, do it right

Yeah, supporting it is a part of the process. This is my vehicle, and it regularly gets maintenance. That's why it comes out so easy, and I did it that way. It's too easy as you can see🤷🏾♂️

Probably want to put a jack or something just holding the control arm a half inch from its bottom position so you don't stress other components like the shocks. But up here in the rust belt this step is mandatory because of how stuck they get.

Are used to do the old-school method of pull out a press, and do it the hard way. I started working at a high volume shop and started using the old hammer method on anything I could. Been doing it that way for nearly 10 years. My personal best is for swings in the ball joint usually goes flying across the shop lol.

@@letsfixit251 usually use the harbor freight app for exact measurements but it can be used for dodge trucks cars and most smaller cars. I specifically remember Honda Accord wish bone style knuckles tend to not come out straight. Good purchase imo

I screwed 3/4 in nuts onto a few of my c clamps and I use a 1/2 impact to drive em out works good to! Even made a clamp out of angle iron you can use it just like a press! Makes it super easy but I wish mine would come out with a hammer ain’t happening in the Midwest for me 😂

@@letsfixit251 looking back the guy with the press out tool did take a bit of time lining the thing up before grabbing his drill to drive it down. It could be pretty close with a weak pair of arms. I was thinking of the field day at automotive schools for all around repairs and what not. Most shops of the Midas variety I’d say are mainly making money off convenience. Speed and efficiency in the automotive repair field is probably what those companies look at a lot but not mostly. If most Midas maybe had 2-3 more bay areas what would be the biggest outcome besides a greater cash flow

This a daily driver that pulls trailers and cars and makes routes to different states every other couple of months. No rust bucket though, sorry. 🤷🏽♂👨🏽🔧
