I love the blasted bird logo on the glass. In 83 I had a 68 super beetle that my wife drove in the summer. It had lady bugs blasted in the rear side windows. Hope everyone had a safe and relaxing labor day weekend and got a classic muscle car ride in.

The 68 Firebird convertible we had in high school (1990) had the birds on the windows. Car is looooong gone but we saved the windows.

Another great video. The comment about taking something apart and getting back to it 15 years later kinda hit home a bit...lol...I sure know about finding parts in a bucket of bolts though. The car is coming along great and the little bird on the glass is an awesome touch. I cant wait to see more on the Great Pumpkin, it really makes me miss my bird.....Sadly no updates on mine so i guess its more Rust Bug videos hahahaha

Thanks for sharing another great informative video. The Firebird emblems on the glass are a cool touch. You are diffidently a pro at removing glass. I always end up with cuts and scrapes from the sharp edges, lol . Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next one.

The bird glass is a nice touch. I normally put all new glass in my builds because after 50 plus year they take some damage, chips and scratches but even with some imperfections in the glass they are going back in this one.

Jon, how much more different (difficult) are power windows? And would you entertain doing a video about how to remove a door panel when the door is closed, locked, and unable to unlock for various reasons, making you try to get access to the lock/latch mechanism? Thanks for all the instructional vids!

You know I have never had the chance to mess with factory power windows. Not a common option. Looking at pictures of the power regulator’s i don’t see them being much different. Now this situation with removing a door panel With door stuck shut Sounds fun. I might have to give that a go. I have a few calls on what to do in this situation but never have I tried it. I like a challenge.

@@VinylVillageGarage I forgot to add that the door has power windows and no battery so you'd be unable to roll the window down to help get a slimjim or coat hanger down inside the door to try to unlock it. Power windows sound nice until you need to push the car around but have to open the door to turn the wheel. And don't forget to close the door when things are close by.

Are the '67 Firebirds with the vent windows easier or more difficult to do this to Doctor Firebird?
@charlieseidelmann6702

Personally, I found the ‘67 a bear to disassemble. I have a spare, albeit junk door that I left the glass and vent window in so I can practice R&R without scratching paint!

Just bought a '68, your videos make an excellent tutorial, thank you. One question : will 1967 Camaro fender fit '68 Firebird?
@VinylVillageGarage
2 жыл бұрын
Congrats and Nice car! To answer the question they are not a direct swap. Just below the bumper area of then fender is slightly different on the outside and on the inside behind the bumper the inner structure is different on the Camaro i believe it is for supporting headlight bracket pieces. If you look up First generation garage he has a video showing the difference and how he modified it to fit.

@@VinylVillageGarage Your thumbnail for each video is too busy with different text fonts and sizes. I would go with larger text in the same spot on every video "1968 Firebird Resto - How much will that cost?" in same color and font. That particular video lacks the "1968 Firebird" in the thumbnail title and may get passed over by people scrolling thru youtube. I would always put the year firebird followed by short 2-4 word text. It should get you more views. Doing a Part 1, Part 2, etc. in the thumbnail title has proven to get more views as well.
