Thank you for the video, and thank you for filming your wound care. Much more easy to understand than watching a rubber imitation wound mock-up. I hope you are healed up well with no pain.

I currently have one on my thigh and the first couple of times they changed it the wound was extremely painful. They gave me morphine the first time and the second time they gave me oxycodone with lidocaine in the wound and on top of that they had to give me fentanyl half way through to control the pain. It made no difference WHATSOEVER. The charge nurse wanted to administer more fentanyl but the surgeon said no because it probably wouldn't make a difference. I had to hold on to the bed rails and my legs would uncontrollably shake from the pain. It gets easier over time though as the wound starts to close.

Didn't use enough lidocaine, morphine and fentanyl will not work for pain that is inflicted.. if it did then people high on heroin wouldn't feel pain when they break a leg, as an ex addict I can say that pain is normal no matter what meds you take, it only works when the pain is current and not inflicted, our bodies will always register new pain as it happens unless the nerves are numbed.

@@Bill_tyler I flipped over a forklift at work. I fell off and landed on my back and it basically crushed my leg into my chest. Kinda hard to explain. I was lucky there was a trailer there that took most of the weight as it came down on me. Had it not been for that trailer, the top of the forklift would have crushed my head and I wouldn't be writing this.

damn and i thought i had it bad, the part where the nurse said " it wont hurt as much putting it back in" had me. But I like that about that nurse she is very reassuring and calm. Very professional. AND SHE HAD GLOVES. :) Anyways, HOPE you have a speedy recovery sir.

I was hit by a car. Right side. Had a big open open wound on hip thigh area. Had surgeries for shattered leg ankle and ruptured bladder. They however sewed the big wound! Had to stay longer at hsp bcs wound was not properly treated by nurses. And yes. This all happened at Spring 2020 covid epidemic. Had to heal alone in a hotel and and then had to pack wound alone after 2 visits from caregiver. It was rough. Still trying to recover. Peace.

Is that curdled blood?
@heru-deshet359
2 жыл бұрын
No. It's medicated packing gauze used to promote healing from within the wound. As the wound starts to heal creating new tissue, less and less of that packed gauze is used until fully healed. It does take time.

All that is sterile to begin with. Once used, the bottle is discarded and the scissors are sterilized.

An abscess is a collection of pus that has built up within the tissue of the body. Signs and symptoms of abscesses include redness, pain, warmth, and swelling. The swelling may feel fluid-filled when pressed. The area of redness often extends beyond the swelling.
