I just rebuilt one. It's based on the two barrel GM rockchester carbs. Very easy rebuild. Not too many parts in there. Some updated parts increase reliability. There's a two piece needle valve at the inlet and an adjustable accelerator pump shaft as well as some different parts in the Venturi assembly to deal with the bog downs these carburetors sometimes experience. The kit is about 40 bux. Can be rebuilt on your kitchen table with a few ordinary hand tools.

Fireship1 thanks for info. Where did you get the rebuild kit with the upgraded parts?

Kim Jensen I bought my kit on eBay. But you can find them on amazon or anyplace you order boat parts from like marineengine.com. Also any carburetor shop should also be able to get you one as well as any MerCruiser dealer.

Thanks again. I bought mine at Repower Marine UK. I live in Denmark, so it's a godsend to have a good ebay dealer within EU. It's such a pain in the butt to import things from US, due to customs delays and fees

I’m having issue with my boat. Takes 3 or 4 trying to start. And last week it did something weird loses power . Feels like it was running out of fuel or dirty fuel. I’m thinking the carburetor. What you think?

Dariel Collazo I’d definitely take the carb apart and perform a cleaning and rebuild. If it’s been several years, I would say your due for it. It’s cheap and easy and will solve many weird running issues. If you haven’t changed fuel filter(s) and spark plugs it would be a good time to do the regular maintenance too. If you don’t already have one, a water separating fuel filter is a great investment.

Thank you for the video. I’m about to try this with my boat and your video made me much more confident that I can do this myself. Thanks again.

What is that filter thing where the fuel line goes? Exactly what carborator is this?

Mercruiser carburetor, and it's an in line fuel filter to keep any fine debris from getting into the carburetor
