Renee Fleming is such an icon. She just keeps moving, developing, trying new things, and opening up new possibilities in the world. Thank you, Renee, for overcoming your stage fright and giving so much to opera! To The Met: Please, please schedule this second run of “The Hours” in the “Live in HD” series! I have had to move south and can’t get to the Met in person any more. Thank you!

I remember Renee Fleming's interview on 60 Minutes when she was going through her stage fright and exhaustion from overworking. She wasn't sure she could continue in her chosen field. Here you can see she has come through that crisis and gone on to become a strong, directed, and nationally-influential woman in many fields of endeavor. She is one of those rare, one-of-a-kind, transcendentally-gifted individuals that come here to give so much to the community.

I love when when she pays homage to Leontyne Price …she’s still with us and I could always hear her influence in Flemings voice and repertoire choices. She’s earned this honor most assuredly. I love her Four Last Songs…glorious singing .

I remember Ms Bassey, missing her kids so hard on the road, and wishing she could have them with her, but too terrified of what strangers would have access to them while she was on stage, which was a large amount of time. She only felt reasonably okay about that if they were with a sister. She was a very loving mom, and just didn't feel like she could think they were safe on the road with her because of the few hours they'd be somewhere she couldn't be sure of. ❤

09:42 I just checked, she's really the voice of Gollum... The moment of happiness when he took possession of "his precious" ring for the last time in his life. I can relate.

I don't find the interviewer cold at all. She's genuinely interested in Ms. Fleming and the topics at hand.

She comes from radio as in npr where, sometimes, the coldness has its own heat.

Not impressed by the interviewer, she shouldn’t cover the arts.
