I am an Ontario born and raised Anglophone who lives and works in Quebec. I work for the Indigenous people. I have relatives who live in the Montreal area and I am close to them, I have always visited Quebec many times and I have gained a better understanding of Quebec and its culture because I broke out of my ethnic Caribbean heritage shell just to go deeper into what the Quebec society is like, and how distinct it is from the rest of Canada. I never thought I would be living and working in Quebec, well now I am. J'aime la province du Quebec.

When you’re out Of the province for a time one begins to realize that Quebec is very different place from the rest of Canada let alone the rest of North America. Is separation the way to go? The English (Canadians of course) have a deep seeded fear of being in charge of their own territory and own destiny that doesn’t come without rule over the French (Québécois in this case). We want our nation and it’s an ethnic nation based on our ethnicity ( Habitants). People outside of our group want Canada as their country. Quebecers are French/Catholic ethnicity Western European in rac we which is closely related to all Europeans but we want our area for us.

Debt is not entirely a bad thing if controlled. to touch on the army invasion, although highly possible because the war measures act was never lifted, i agree it wouldnt happen. Education & thus curriculum in Quebec was controlled by the Catholic Church. They did not teach business skills & business management, thus denying French-Canadians the skills to integrate successfully into the business milieu. Moreover, all Quebec govts consented to this for decades, failing to use their own legislative power in education. French Canadian isolation was largely a consequence of Church policy in curriculum & in deliberate social isolation.

Viviane 30-12-2022

There is a significant population in Montreal to expect Francophones to speak some English. If I went to the Gaspe, I wouldn't expect to be spoken in English. It all depends on the area. By the way, English is the international language..not French.
