Bassline as played note-for-note by Jon Camp in this brilliant Prog Rock Hit from 1978 by the British band, Renaissance, from their LP, 'A Song for All Seasons' with beautiful vocals by Annie Haslam. Hope you enjoy the result.
My bass is a vintage Rickenbacker 4001 bass manufactured in May 1973 with its original pickups... serial number ME19xx.
The bridge pickup is covered up with a custom made gold plated cover to 'cover up' the hole surrounding the bridge pickup, and this is just to look nice.
Neck pickup volume at 8, and Neck pickup tone at 10. Bridge pickup and tone both at full.
The strings are new DR HI-BEAMS 45 -105 roundwound strings, and the bass is playing through a Marshall B25 MK-2 amplifier with NO additional pre-amp nor sound effects. The Tone Controls on Marshall amp: Bass is at 5 o'clock, Mid at 4 o'clock, Treble at 5 o'clock. My guitar pick is a vintage 1972 Herco gray heavy gauge guitar pick (that I bought back in '72).
