I thought I liked house and dance till I got this album. Literally the greatest album I've ever bought. I went back and bought the original renaissance and it's just as good. They are playing in Camden in October and I'm going....46 years old and I'm gonna dance my ass off

Thats what we all aim to do, til we get there, and its rammed with the camera phone crew. you know the ones that try and film the whole experience, and barely move. So you sit down next to the nearest base bin, blaze up a fat one and just let the music take you off. mmmm

OMG the memories... Renaissance Volumes 1 and 2 were shere music perfection (my personal favourite being Volume 2, CD2)!!! My love for dance music began with these CDs (Sasha and John Digweed), and the addiction continues to this day. They are true gods and pioneers of the genre. RESPECT!

I was at the release party for this. Allerton. Castle October 1995. Digweed played the opening night of Tall Trees,Yarm live essential mix before popping down to Renaissance at Allerton Castle for the launch. Played totally different set from Tall Trees. definitely best live set I'd heard him play. Renaissance put on an incredible night. Heather Small handing Champagne to the 1st clubbers in.i was 2nd through the door. Full Renaissance decor.incredible DJs, strong old school pills, Digweed playing tunes from mix CD&2nd essential mix.(Spirits Bring me down.chris& James mix blew my mind!!) Awesome album, incredible night. Only Cream 1st Grand Finale night had better DJs. Renaissance was definitely better, cleaner, classier,......😄

I remember coming across R1 in 2004 as a high school kid, and had no idea that it was a anniversary release of the original press. I was completely under the impression that sasha and digweed were just bringing up old classics for some fun but little did I realise it was simply a timeless piece of art that transcended the test of time. shit is sick

+LICKSTERxx These 3 discs are a close second to the original Renaissance. Renaissance 3 was mixed by Father of Sound and it was horrendous. 3 CDs of boring, cheesy repetitive house, nothing like the first 2. I took it back the next day and swapped it for Cream Live 2. Was worth it just for the Paul Oakenfold disc.
