I saw them in Italy about 40 years ago..I was in another band who played before them..After the show when the public had been away they started to play a long session of blues songs ,only for their personal pleasure..and Gosh! they were fantastic!

Ian died on Friday the 19th October, I was with him; he'd had a good day with the re release of The Renegades CD by Warner Bros and was very happy the day he died. The band will be coming from all over the world to be together for the funeral next friday. He was a great friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him

I can't stop watching this - great group - great song and a knockout performance - to such an appreciative audience! Loads of pretty girls screaming - Ah, it takes me back!!! I remember being chased all over the stage and finished up on top of the piano - an upright mounted on beer crates!! I had to keep playing - of course!! Sometimes I never made it to the piano - it was hard to keep playing wrapped up in girlies!! Hahaha! Those were the days!

Thanx Scotsman for the tribute. Obviously you thought a lot of Ian/Dr Rev Natch too and it was good to hear from you.You summed Ian up in your message; always onward and outwards, always looking at the new'big thing' his latest being to get a cover band together to tour Finland as the 'New Renegades'. Unfortunately his plans did not materialise but then he lived a life of a true rock and roller and inevitably paid the ultimate price. He would not have lived any other way though.

Ian had a good rock and rock 'send off' at his funeral 16th November. His life was celebrated by his family, friends and The Renegades. His essence was with us this day when the sun shone and leaves were falling from the trees.Intellectual, mathematician, muse, musician a unique person; he was loved by all who had the priviledge to know him. His spirit in the sky will keep the truth in our hearts forever. He was a soul who shared his heart with everyone.

This is in Finland, live at a stadium. Their stage antics later developde into a "fight" and they were banned from some stages for it. This is so fun to watch, thanks for posting it. We will add other videos soon, so be watching here!

Ian was cremated at Blacon Crematorium and his ashed are with his family.I will see if I can find out who actually holds these but does it matter? He is a star in the sky above us now shining his spirit across us all.

The Renegades did not stop writing their own songs. I had it straight from Ian Mallett who was still writing songs up until his untimely death last year. Several songs were collaborations and listed simply as by the Renegades. As far as I know, Denys Gibson is not dead, at least he was not dead before Ian died.

Itse näin nämä 'luopiojäbät' jo vuonna 1964, kun heillä oli marraskuun 4. päivänä soittokeikka Mannerheimintien Yhteiskoulussa Helsingissä, taisi olla ihan heidän ensimmäinen esiintymisensä Suomessa tuolloin kyseessä...!

Beat-punk heaven. Pity that so many of the studio recordings that the Renegards made are insipid by comparison to to "13 Women" and "Cadillac". Still, "Pop" is a rather pleasing beat album and the sleeve notes are a hoot. Wished they would have made a "live" album along these lines. Thanks for posting the clip.

@LoveMarriott i think 80s was that kind of time, and even a little bit of the 90s because they mantained a lil bit of the 80s spirit, while 2000s suck, above all because of globalization (world market)
