Todays generations has found themselves in a turmoil of finding a balance in life. To improve our mental and physical health, dealing with trauma, stress and abuse we are finding ways to bring serenity in life.
Renelle Snelleksz, a dance movement therapist introduces us to expressing ourselves through dance to connect our mind and body. She will talk about how therapeutic use of movement and dance help to support the intellectual, emotional, and motor functions of the body and help people in understanding their emotional wounds. From her experiences of working with sex trafficking survivors she will also share with us the benefits of dance movement therapy. Renelle Snelleskz is a Dance Movement Therapist with a decade of experience. She works with marginalized communities and primarily survivors of sexual violence. Dance has a power to heal, Renelle uses this therapy to address areas of trauma and mental health concerns with both disadvantaged and mainstream populations.
She has been trained and mentored by Kolkata Sanved, pioneers of Dance Movement Therapy in India. She is a faculty at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai - Centre for Lifelong Learning, for the Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy.
Renelle, quit her glamourous career as a TV presenter at Times Now to pursue her passion for dance. She has used Dance Movement Therapy in her work with children from slum communities, survivors of cancer and those battling mental health issues.
