This works. If you lost the IK, that is because the skeletal mesh doesn't have IK bones, while the skeleton have it. You can create 3 virtual bones, VB_ik_foot_root, vb_ik_foot_L, and vb_ik_foot_R And assign it on the control rig of SK_Manny. That will solve the foot IK problem

Thanks for the very structured tutorial. Now I finally try Metahuman with UE 5.0.1 :-) One question, are there also changes in the tutorial when changing clothes? I would like to make a Medieval Style Metahuman with meshes from the Marketplace.

hello im having problems at 11:54 when i test my character the camera is stuck inside of my head and I can see my head organs (my project is 3person perspective)

Hi there, I am not sure, but my guess might be the child parent relationships of your mesh might not be setting up right, or I think you might need to fix the position value of either your metahuman or your camera. Hopefully it might helps a bit. :)

It never works for me, everytime i copy the feet, legs and torso from my meta and paste to the mesh in 3rd, the model never realigns like in your video even after making them children of the mesh.

I am guessing you might need to follow at 2:05 which it mentioned that you need to choose third person while you create it in the UE 5.or you can import it inside the project as a different way. Good luck 😃

Thanks for the tutorial, followed everything and worked great. The only problem I have is, after packaging the project there is no hair in the build. What could be the problem here?

They are meant to be just the skeletons that you wrap your own character around. If there was no hair, you may have missed a step. Either that or your hair may have been fixed to the head in some way so that the skeleton overwrote it.

My Third Person mesh won,t align the way yours did after dragging the foot, torso and the leg inside the Mesh(character mesh). Its still on top of the skeletal body mesh. Is there anyway i can align the whole thing as your did.This is part Create Metahuman Third person Character(Specifically the part where the structure correct itself after you drag the torso leg and feet in Mesh) 6:24 in the Video. I followed the exact steps and try this twice in two different Third person Template.Please help if you know how this can be fixed. BTW Great Video ..

Hi there! In this case, assume your structure is exactly the same as what I show, save, close and reopen the blueprint( sometimes the viewport could be mess up) after that you could try to just keep going on the 10:04 by using the set master pose components after you set it up hopefully it will solve your problem! The solution is, on the various parts in the BP_ThirdPersonCharacter (template), in the viewport, click on Torso, Feet, Legs after copying/pasting it in, then reset the location and rotation to all 0. Notice it says -89, change to 0, etc.

Hi there, I am not sure the problem you encountered, but in 11:41 of this video there is a different way to handle the animations kzitem.info/news/bejne/1X2Lm2Vtm6KJZZw which is using the compatible skeleton which you would not need to assign the skeleton. Hope this might help you and good luck :)

Just to clarify my problem, before changing meshes to metahuman skeletal mesh the mannequin’s feet stayed on different steps and the knees bent now the one foot hovers over thin air.
