What I am missing here is heart & poetry. We just see some "wild" Dutch working working working... and indeed you are doing an incredible work! But you have an amazingly beautiful Villa of the nineteenth century in Piedmond, which is probably the most sober and elegant region in Italy, and you don't spend time to tell us about it. What struck you of this place and what made you fell in love with it. I know the Villa, I was living quite near there, I recognised the other places you visited: the Harbour, the splendid liberty hotel on the lake, etc etc... and you don't give us any information? Your project has no heart and love. Remember old noble villas have their memories and energy: they will give you back the very same when you don't treat them with the due respect. I hope you will change this attitude n become friend with the Villa, adding your hearts. So that we, Watchers, will participate with more enthusiasm to your project. For the moment I am unsubscribing. It's hurting to see this "barbarian" attitude!

Of course, in the end, the decision is yours. But, it is the vine growing on the wall that is tearing it apart. Take it all down and later, when you are looking for something to do, :-) you can mount some simple Latus and grow it again. Then as time goes by and it becomes unmanageable again, or you need to work on the wall, you can lower it do your trimming or repair.

I love what you are doing there, and am so interested that I found the location of the villa on Google Earth. I'm still wondering why you aren't driving the van all the way up the driveway to the door of the villa? It looks like maybe you'd need to clear a bit of topsoil, but that must be easer than dragging all the equipment up the driveway? Regardless, keep up the good work! Thanks!

I don't understand why you are repairing a system which over time may break down again in different places. If I was you I would just dig new trenches and connect new pipes from the villa wall to the river. At the same time install a sprinkler system. All you need is to contract or rent a small digger. You can also tear up some roots rocks and other crap. This would free up more time to work on what's important. The inside of the villa. But then that's me who fixed up a house in 3 yrs by myself At 40 yrs old. Now I'm 65 and still can work my ass off.
