would you mind typing "bench" into the PIOsolver console (Ctrl+B) and sharing what number youre getting? (reference point for the speed it solves at, if you still have the server that is)

You can deactivate the one from your local pc and activate it on the server again.

@@docpio6465 Hey there, very interesting video. I was precisely gonna ask to you, if you are sure that Pio (and other solvers too if you happen to know), works in Win Server OS well. Regards!

Thanks for the video, man! It seems Contabo has updated their offer, is that now a Virtual dedicated servers you'd take to do the job (post-flop sim with scripting)? thanks!

Hi! Based on how I understand their new offers, I think the VDS is an option for smaller sims such as small tree preflop sims or postflop scripting (because of the limited RAM up to 64GB). For huge preflop sims, you would probably need to choose more RAM. Anyway, I recommend you to ask the support, whether these VDS suit for Poker simulations like Piosolver (the German support was familiar with these questions) before making the order.

I knew you listed the pros of renting a server at the beginning, but would you say there are any cons compared to running sims on a desktop PC?
@docpio6465

Don't see any downswides. Of course a server is only needed if you plan to do some big sims like preflop sims or scripting for hundreds of different flops.

@@docpio6465 Say you run big sims 32gb+ on a server, doesn't your desktop PC need the same amount of ram to load the trees? I guess it depends if you save the trees as full saves or small saves correct?
@docpio6465

@@carl9141 i am not 100% certain about that. But from my understanding, you won't need big ram after the simulation is calculated unless you want to restart or nodelock it.

How long do the big sims take usually?
@docpio6465

It really depends on your inputs and the size of the tree. But complex preflop sims for 6max Cashgames for example can easily take multiple days. Smaller sims such as HU or Spins or Shortstack games in general can be solved within a few minutes to hours.

That's a very negative way of thinking. But for sure it will be a problem in static and little complex game formats like HU or Spins.
