That was the best lineup that REO had. Better than Bryan Hitt and Dave Amato

Love the “chatting” between Kevin and Alan on this version. Written by bassist Bruce Hall this song is genius. One of the rare times we get some of Kevin’s Fender Telecaster sounds on its own before Gary wades in with that huge Les Paul /Marshall Amp sound. Awesome!. The band were so tight on this show, they made it look so easy.

Excellent live performance. REO in early 80s was great!

They came to the Canfield Fair in 2001 and the music was great. They played the song riding the Storm out after that Kevin Cronin stepped back up to the microphone and yelled "we've always been there for you and we always will" In 2017 Carlene Carter and John mellencamp also come to the Canfield Fair and played the hits. It's a great feeling when the soul gets to hear soothing sounds.

The band was great here, and Gary was killing it on guitar. This was a single-worthy song. Great hook, and nice use of synths. A solid album cut.

nrawayne yea i know that in the early 90s like 1990 or something around there dave bruce and bryan on keep pushin on the live in lansing mi version with keep pushin they just sound so good but if i had to choose between bruce gary and a different drummer since alan was already leaving to spend more time with his family but anyway those three and a failing career versus a semi successful career with dave bruce and bryan i would have to go with the gary richrath show but i also am not a real big fan of the love songs but the good trouble album is probably the only exception with a few songs on wheels are turnin but hi infidelity was good for them in the long run but in the following few years gary just felt more and more alone since after that real big hit record no one wanted to hear any new rock songs just keep pushin ridin the storm out and back on the road again so now youll never get anything other than cant fight this feeling about 5 songs from hi infidelity keep pushin riverside avenue building the bridge 2 songs from the tuna fish record and a few others which kinda bothers me because i wanna see them live but because i was born 25 years after they took most of the good songs out of the set like turkey trot and side one of nine lives and lucky for you i went to the show in st. louis july 2 2017 i got probably 10-15 songs but i didn’t really get much of a live experience the music was too close to the record and the backing vocals were too clean instead of the good old alan and gary trying to hit the note just right and take joe walsh for example he tells everyone i like what you did on that song dont do it ever again because he wants more difference in his music reo just plays everything to close to the record that after 29 years bryan and dave got too good at it and now its all the same and its great to be there ya know you feel like your so close to them and a few hundred feet is close and you soon get a contact high in the middle of the show usually around golden country is where it really hits you and soon those planes look like 20 planes and instead of the regular white they look purple but you snap out of it quickly and watch the fire works and make sure not to follow the crowd to chicago and go the right way instead thats part of the excitement and in my opinion dave switches guitars too much and he says people like to see them all but if he didn’t let them know he had a dozen for each song no one would expect but some times you gotta appease the people and gary being drunk all the time because kevin made him feel alone didn’t fly with kevin
