How's she goin'? You did a great job welding the stud in the shaft and keeping it nice and straight!!! When I first started working in my apprenticeship, the journeyman I worked with had his box half filled with tools he made himself. He told me if you have a job that takes a tool you don't have, go to the bench and make what you need. Words to live by eh!!! Nice repair. Take 'er easy!!!

That is a good moto to live by. There is nothing wrong with a make it yourself attitude. It does take some confidence though. Stevo

You know as well as anyone, if you want something fixed, do it yourself. I don't know what I would do without a welder. Opens up so many possibilities. You've been putting yours to work lately. Thanks Stevo

That is a tough call. Parts for those old Rockwells are very hard to come buy. Any Delta parts will probably work. If there is that much wrong, I would probably look at another one for parts. Lathes are not as popular as they use to be so the pricing has come down. People are scared to use them. Hope you can make it work cause it is a great hobby. Thanks. Stevo

@@michaelramsden3477 If the bearings are good, there is no reason it can't come back to life. Missing parts my be a problem. I have one that is older and I like it. Thanks. Stevo

no need to go out and buy something when you can fix the old one and make it as good as new.

I really try to keep the old stuff going. You know as well as I do, some of those parts just do not exist and you have to get creative. Stevo
