Brass valve guides change the sound and slotting slightly. Nice playing on Joy Spring.

very nicely done. I have a Silver Bach Strad 37. Date from, I think 1980 or 1981. It is in dire need of an overhaul...dents, laquer, plating, everything needs to be done. I'd love to have the case repaired as well, but I'm sure that's become a "Replace it" item, even at $100+ if you can even find one.

Don’t replace the valve guides for nylon ones right away. Nylon ones are less noisy however they can create less quick response. The way to fix the moistness is to replace the old brass ones (from these older style horns) for the new brass ones which will fit the gap created by continuous use of the horn

Hi Timo, great work. Greetings from Philippines. I'm wondering if I could send one of my horn to you for straighting the bell. How can I contact you? Thanks mate!

Hi Neo! Thank you for your confidence but maybe you can find a repair technician more close to Philippines. I live Finland and I'm afraid it wouldn't be feasible to send the trumpet over here.

Hi, the lacquer was already gone from the bell, so I buffed the raw brass surface with tripoli and rouge. Otherwise buffing would remove all lacquer. I don't have facilities for relacquering so I left the bell to raw brass.

Do you mean some brace between the slides or valve casings? They need to soldered. You need to first solder out the broken brace, then hard solder it back to one piece and finally soft solder the fixed braced back to its original place. Try to find some repair technician in your area to do it.

Hey ! and what kind of lubricant is needed to grind the valves (Name) or the name of the valve block lapping paste thanks
@timyllym

Hi, for usage with the ground casing mandrel any common valve oil or valve grease is good enough lubricant. If you really need to lap the valve casing inside you need to be really careful that you don't take too much and the valve starts to leak. I use Ferree's lapping compound to lap valve casings when absolutely necessary.

I think you can order Ferree's products to Russia by mail. Dawkes Music in UK also sells Ferree's lapping compound. You can also make your own lapping compound by mixing fine grade pumice with oil. Other than that, I'm afraid I'm not able to help you.
