I want to thank you for making this video. I have an 85 Excel where an old belt caused gumming up of the primary clutch. I disassembled the parts and cleaned and reassembled them. It works perfect now. (Luckily I didn't need any parts.) Thank you again! My 9 year old daughter rode it and loves the sled!

Thanks for the video. My clutch stopped engaging last night. Trying to figure out what could be the problem.

Appreciate video. Was wondering if you have to actually remove clutch, as I've seen a video where they just leave it on the shaft. Have a 91 Enticer 400 that I have to clean and lube

Thank you. Remove the centre bolt, then CAREFULLY remove the six 10mm bolt while pushing in on the clutch cover. The spring under it is quite strong so use caution. You don't need a clutch puller to service the clutch.

Is there any clurch adjustment on this machine?

The manual discussed oiling and greasing certain points on the clutch - any thoughts?

I would use as little oil and grease as possible. It will only attract dirt and belt particulate.

How did you remove the clutch? When I put a wrench on the center bolt the clutch just spins with the wrench no matter how I try to hold the clutch from spinning!

You can feed some rope into one of the spark plug holes. Make sure the piston you are going to use is almost at the top of its stroke, feed some rope in, then rotate the engine by hand until the engine stops turning. Now you can pull the bolt out!

Are parts still available for those to rebuild them?

Hey man my ET250 gears up perfectly fine but it is having trouble gearing down. It's stuck in a higher gear than it should be when I'm slowing down leading to it bogging and stalling out. Secondary clutch gets pretty hot too. I've replaced the secondary clutch spring and the belt but nothing changed. Any idea what it could be?

Did you make sure to wind the spring the correct number of turns in the secondary?

@@generalrepair9947 I'm not too sure I did it last winter. I'm gonna drag it into the garage in the next couple weeks and try rewinding it. Do you think it could be too tight or too loose?
@generalrepair9947

@@JNCdlS could be. You need to know exactly how many turns. There are some great Facebook groups for Entincers.

Did you use a store bought grunt tool and spider tool? Or did you get creative and make one? That alone will halt 95% of the people attempting this project.

I used the power of my hands to compress the spring while the clutch was on the machine. I’m not a big strong guy either. Attempt at your own risk! No special tools used. The springs in these enticers are pretty easy to compress.
