Satan has done a nasty trick. One of his nastiest. He needed to subvert Christianity and he invented a genius plan. Take one of the most important ideas in all of scripture and redefine it to mean something it doesn’t mean. So he selected the Greek word metanoia. Translated, in most English bibles, as “repent”. The English word repent means to sorrowfully turn away from sin. But is that what the authors of the Bible meant? Far from it. The truth is to “repent” simply means to change your mind.
Here is a great quote that sums up repentance pretty well.
“Repent, as Christ meant it to be in terms of salvation, means to change your mind from trusting in what YOU can do for God to trusting only in what HE can do for you.”

What follows are verses that teach repentance (the TRUE meaning!) Every single one of these verses teach about changing your mind. Or to have a change of mind. Or a new perspective. Literally NONE of them teach turning from sins. See for yourself. I added the idea of a "changed mind" to each. See if it makes sense. Now try it with turn from sin and see if it makes sense. You will see that in every case repent means to change your mind. And with when it comes to salvation, it means to turn from unbelief to belief.
