Cant seem to find part two of this video. Getting ready to stack two 12k Sol-Arks on total off grid site. Your videos are very informative. Thanks

Can you do a video showing the differences between lithium and lead acid since you've experienced with both. I saw where you do the installation but what's the net difference.

Curious as to why you're using east/west on each MPPT, vs east on one MPPT and west on the other?

@@HighTechLab I've always been taught that if you have panels at different azimuths on the same MPPT input, it will negatively affect your production. I am one to question everything though, so I'll be very interested to see your results. Would you run a test installing as planned, then switch it so all of the east facing panels are on one MPPT and all of the west facing on the other?

@@benssolarandbattery that is a fantastic video idea and we will make sure to do that. From what I understand the blocking diodes in the combiner box keep things in check. It is super easy with the mc4 connectors to just unclick two and then stick them in the other box.

The solar inputs on the Sol-Ark are only rated for a maximum of 10 60 cell PV modules in series. The damage threshold is 550V so feeding 12 modules in series may kill things. What you could do is break the array into 6 strings of 8 modules. Either 3 east strings in one MPPT and 3 west strings in the other MPPT or 2 east/1 west and 1 east/2 west respectively.

@@HighTechLab At STC. When cold, it goes up another 20% or 25% once you hit below -20°F. In their literature, they recommend a maximum of 10 60 cell modules, 9 72 cell modules or 6 96 cell modules.

@@ShaneFromSA Both Sol-Ark and SunSynk are made by the Chinese company called Deye. They make very similar inverters under the Deye brand as well. I learnt they won't sell directly to USA because of agreements with Sol-Ark.

@@adon8672 I've heard Deye makes SolArk's hardware. I've also heard the Deke inverters very good and are a lot cheaper. I was just searching for Deye inverters and didn't see the typical listings/prices (I'm in the USA also). I guess having a sales agreement in place would explain that. Any work-arounds online??? I just can't afford this SolArk... My system ROI would be about 25 years, lol!

You've got 12S 2P? The 2 different 12s Face different directions? If so I think there oc voltage varies little But their MPP voltage Will be different and this will cause you to not harvest their full potential.

That's the nice part about the "T" in MPPT, it tracks the maximum power point so as it changes throughout the day we still maintain optimal production. We will have blocking diodes so paralleling them is perfectly fine.

@@HighTechLab If the Sun facing array is strong enough the algorithm will settle on its MPp v And the lower voltage set will harvest Nothing. However if your lower voltage set had its own charge controller or was paralleled with a similar low voltage set Instead with its own channel it would harvest something.

They have an 8k version and a 12k version - The 8k is cheaper but you can't parallel them and the only difference in spec is PV input. literally you are talking $600 difference.
