Yes please. We all know you can do stuff, which is why we watch .... BUT the real application of your skill and experience comes when it goes wrong, or you are called in to fix something. This flooring one was particularly good, especially as you exposed your thinking in advance. There are a few other 'Tubers now doing what I call 'confessionals' (PlumberParts, MrA Builders, SkillBuilder) and they are not only excellent viewing, but vital sharing as we have all been there ..... or will be one day. One starter for you could be 'Wood matching' i.e. fixing damaged / split wood and getting the colour match right @@thetallcarpenter

And that’s why quickstep is worth the money ! Had to do the same thing on engineered once but on a full one so had to cut a bit off the back off the shoulder and tongue. Not ideal! Good use of the palm router making a hole and then snapping the thin strips! Showing class and experience again, builders got to be happy with that!

Great repair Del. Sometimes I think you need a little bit of luck on your side with jobs like that. Just a tip I picked up from another KZitemr( not tried yet) was to use a strong double sided tape on the plank to stick your knocking block to, to create that friction you need to split or relocate the joints rather than a chisel. Don’t forget to replace your router bit, as laminate is brutal on blades😂

You might have been able to shift the board by sticking some double sided tape to a bit of 4x2 then pressing the 4x2 on to the board with your foot and hitting it with a hammer. Worked for me with some cork tiles with a similar click and lock system. Added advantage that the bit you're replacing doesn't get damaged, which might be an issue in different circumstances. All the best.

Lucky the damage was towards an edge. And an advantage of that non tip locking system. The rout out and implode the middle board technique is how I have always done my secret floorboard repairs. Then cut the back edge out of new board to drop in. Never tried it on cliplock. That bit of trickery saved heaps. But also exemplifies why I still wouldn't put that sort of flooring, or tiles, in my own place. I feel like I am walking on egg shells all the time when working on customer houses that have them. Tiles are worse.
