What do bearing numbers mean? It's explained here electricalfundablog.com/identify-bearing-number-calculation-nomenclature/ 6 = Deep groove single ball bearing 2 = Light duty 02 = bore diameter 15 mm (about 5/8") From hours of research about a/c bearings I've learned that most window and wall air conditioner bearings are 6202 for larger units (larger motor with 15mm shaft) and 6201 for smaller units (smaller motor with 12mm shaft).

Brilliant video... just ripped apart my 15 year old Frigidaire with plans to oil the bearings as a temporary fix until I ordered new ones. I'm super handy, appliances, cars, motorcycles and as a result I got "cocky", didn't trace my re-wiring steps and connected the blue wire to the wrong terminal on the board and fried the board and capacitor in the process....oh well. Haste makes waste folks... take pics along the way

@totalnoobfishing1753
3 жыл бұрын
@@royberry7585 Spot on Roy (THANKS), there is a schematic on the inside of the case and the blue wiring was really all that could get you confused as the terminals into the board are so close together in a cramped space. Since I replaced the unit, I kept the old one to "play", and I think the board can be replaced and the capacitor is toast, so now its a matter of sourcing these 15 year old parts, and shipping and bla bla bla, it just would not be practical being in the middle of summer sadly. A second lesson learned is that these units should be opened periodically for cleaning, as I never opened it for 15 years and could not believe the amount of black mold on the foam housing which is ultimately blowing those spores into your room when you run the AC.. it was shocking!!!

When I do a service calls for these little units, I always replace the cheap rust prone OEM steel and tin screws for some stainless steel ones, that way, when your customers call you to come clean their unit. It’s a breeze disassembling them. The tools I use: a drill (just in case I have to break screws), long-ass Craftsman Phillips screwdriver (for the fan assembly screws holding it down on the pan), a small hammer (for the squirrel cage fan wheel & condenser fan slinger stuck on the fan motor shaft), grease (for bearings and squirrel cage wheel & condenser fan slinger shaft mounting), a set of easy out bits (for those rust worn, and stubborn screws that your screwdriver can no longer loosen), and last but not least, a long-ass Bosch drill bit extension (you might need it to break some hard to reach, rust-worn screws, on the bottom of the ac pan.
