Exactly how I feel, I had absolutely no experience with any sort of mechanics but couldn't afford working saws so bought non runners, everything I had to fix something I looked for a tinman video on it, was never disappointed. I've learnt so much and now have a dozen or more running saws all bought as non runners! Thanks a lot tinman!

Thank you so much for putting this video up Tinman, I'm working on an 044 for a customer right now, it's a early model as well, and this is the most simple and easy video to understand and you go to show us that we don't need to go buy fancy tools but just use regular stuff we have laying around in the garages, thank you Tinman this video is going to make the seal job a lot easier!

Not gonna lie I wrecked 2 seals on the clutch side trying to figure out how it worked with the bushing. Still not sure how that bushing seals so well but it does. Finally got to run my 044 for the first time this weekend after figuring all my issues out. It’s stupid fast but almost wish I ran it stock before porting to see what if anything I accomplished

This is what i have been looking for. Have 2 Stihl 044. 0ne 10mm pin and a 12mm. The 10mm started leaning out bad on me and its an old saw thats never been touched. Been thinking of crank seals and looking for vids. This is perfect. Thanks Tinman. As usual you do a great job.

Arctic Stihl's were available for a long time in the US but they weren't popular enough nationwide so Stihl USA stopped American distribution maybe 10 years ago or so. Also full wrap heated handles exist but they're rare as hens teeth and often prices accordingly

I will say as a 2 stroke tech. I hate Husqvarna's. They really have cheapened the quality. And the parts support is non existent. And that single piston ring setup is notorious for scoring up the cylinder walls. And the carburetors they use are cheap.
