The "foam" fill is made up of basically polyurethane. It's injected as a liquid poly and mixed with a catalyst/softener that will cure without air being present. They pressurize it with the liquid close to the normal air operating pressure. The specific fill in your tire was mixed with ground up recycled foam fill. Most commercial tire shops can direct you to someone that does it if they don't themselves.

That tire could have lasted another 30 years, you wasted your time and money. But thanks for the video very intriguing

@@LewisRenovation the machine was 4 wheel drive wasn't it? Well if it's your machine you know the terrain and your needs, for my machine I would have kept that tire allot longer

Did you have them foam filled professionally? Was looking into foam filling my backhoe loader front tires.

Your John Deere cost for the valve stem comment was so true. Our used skid steer has the same problem. After watching your video I’m going to shop for new wheels….already bought the tires but didn’t know the old ones were filled with foam. Thanks!

Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a front end loader with tires that have very good tread but dry rotted sidewalls. I was considering having them foam filled to try to get the life out of them. They cost more than $1,000 each to replace. I was concerned about whether I could remove from the rims when fully worn and your video was very helpful. Thanks.

So are you going back to foam filled and would you recommend this for general use?

Tires were foam filled because we have mesquite trees and the thorns love to cause flats at the worst moment. An added benefit is additional front weight when using a completely full herbicide spray rig. I'll get them refilled eventually, probably over the winter when we really don't use that tractor. Thanks for commenting!
