This actually can come out pretty easy, if you remove the nut that attaches the motor to the wiper mechanism, then the arm that attaches to the motor can be pried up and then the arms have full flexibility. Use a 13 mm open end wrench to loosen it. Or an easier way is to stop your wiper halfway on the up stroke. Go at that nut with a thin 1/4 flex head ratchet and standard short 13mm socket. Yes...you will lose the "clock" allignment, but that is easy to figure out after you the assembly back in with the new motor. Make sure you remove the little plastic dust cap from the old motor shaft and put it on the new motor shaft after you install it on the mounting bracket. Slide the whole assembly back in the opening without the motor attached to the rotating arm. Attach the electrical connector. Attach the firewall nuts from inside the cab and tighten them to final tightness. Then, cycle the motor and ensure that it spins and stops on the delay setting. Turn it off when the motor is paused and you now know that this is the "rest position" for the wiper shafts. Slide the rotating arm onto the motor shaft and now you align it. It is really easy. Basically, the rotating arm should point straight left at the 9'o'clock position. (in the video at 0:27, the black rotating arm is at about Ten30, which is actually about 1/8th of the way up on the up stroke). Once the arm is on, hand thread the nut on and very loosely tighten it, but not fully. Then, do the alignment with the rotating arm pointing 9 o'clock left, the connecting rods should be straight in line with eachother and passing directly over the nut. There is enough space to tighten the nut with a 13mm open end wrench. Wrench with your right hand, and hold the rods aligned and centered over the motor shaft with your left. Once it is snug, go turn the ignition on and run the wiper motor on a delay, watching the wiper shafts turn. You should see them start by spinning clockwise up, then counter down and stop. The shafts shouldn't briefly change directions AT ALL when starting or stopping. Misalignment of the rotating arm will be visible if the wiper shafts briefly start counter clockwise down then cycle up and down. Or if it starts clockwise up, then down, then finishing with a micro clockwise up. WIPER SHAFTS SHOULD ONLY CHANGE DIRECTION ONCE PER CYCLE. Once you confirmed it is aligned, I took the extra step of restarting the wiper, then shutting off the ignition and basically freezing the rotating shaft at anywhere from Ten30 to 2 o'clock. This pivots the connecting rods away from the motor nut, and lets me fit my skinny flex head 1/4 inch socket in there and give that shaft nut a good amount of torque. Do this, again, while holding the left-hand connecting rod with your left hand to keep it from putting strain on the motor. Reinstall the cowling and wipers and test run the setup. You should be able to put those wipers pretty low, basically within one or two inches from the bottom of the glass. Then reinstall the interior.

I just replaced the wiper motor on my Saturn & they work but they don't park in the right place they stop in the raised position. You gave me the explanation I need I wasn't aware it has to be clocked in the right place should be easy just one nut holds the short pivot arm. Thanks for posting video.

I'm getting ready to replace my motor. I'm going to try to put my wipers straight up before removing the linkage to see if that makes it easier.
