If you've recently acquired a vintage knitting machine and it's dropping stitches or not knitting correctly, it probably needs a new sponge bar. Don't worry, it's something you can fix on your own on the cheap.
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to replace the sponge bar on my 30 year old Brother 270 but this applies to all Brother knitting machines.
I found everything I needed on Amazon:
Double sided tape: amzn.to/3J9KcG7
X-Acto knife: amzn.to/3b6t4Ev
Sponge strip for Brother bulky machines (KH2xx): amzn.to/3cDutTo
Sponge strip for Brother standard machines (KH8xx-KH9xx): amzn.to/3RVzZkH
Scotch tape + dispenser: amzn.to/3aYHUx3
Some of the links are affiliate links, which means I make a small commission if you buy something.
