The map I reference in this video appears at the end in a "still" shot so you can do a screen save and see it more clearly. I recorded this short video at biblical Tamar, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the ancient world with levels from the Iron age up to modern times. This was the southern border of Ancient Israel ( This was my last day in Israel on the recent 12 day tour I led from the far north to the far south of the ancient Holy Land...we traversed the country. My voice was a bit hoarse, talking for hours each day, including in the desert. I will be taking another group, limited to 30 participants March 17-28, 2023. See link here for itinerary and all details. It will likely fill up fast (I just announced it last Friday on social media and we already have 10 signed up. A deposit holds your place. I prefer a smaller group to allow maximum interaction and exchanges among us all:

Tamar: Biblical Tamar is located 30 miles south of the Dead Sea and less than one kilometer west of Route 90. These days it is accessible by means of busses and cars and is also identified on the map as Hetzeva or Ir Ovot. A paved access road and ample parking provided by the Israel Antiquities Authority. Blossoming Rose, a USA partner with the Israel Antiquities Authority for the preservation and restoration of Tamar, maintains and provides year around security for the Park. allows for even the physically impaired to easily reach out and touch her massive walls. Toilets and water are available at the site.
New signs posted throughout the Park explain the history of the walls, waterways, granaries, and ancient Jujube tree, located near to the center of the city--the oldest in the Holy Land.
Relics yet hidden under the desert sands remain protected for another generation of eager archaeologists to discover.
