Thanks, most I've ever spent on a gecko & couldn't of been happier doing it. The best thing about purchasing from breeders is you can see how much love they have for the animals. She knew every spot on him.

amazing crested gecko! haha I have similar taste to you in reptiles it seems. sorry about the FWC, it will be cool to get to take your pick of the next clutch though. Question about the spider wood. How does it do with super high humidity? Could I use that in tree monitor cages, getting sprayed constantly, or would it mold? Great video

Thanks! Great minds think alike. I don't have any problems with it molding but all my enclosures are bio active & the springtails eat mold. I don't have any spider wood in the gtm enclosure, they have large cork tubes. I think it would be fine.

@@scalesfinsfeathers5003 awesome. we're moving towards bioactive. Once my adult enclosures are done this fall they'll all be going bioactive.

@@TheReptileBarn I really love the natural bioactive enclosures, it's amazing how much those little bugs can clean up. I'm coming across some challenges when it comes to breeding though. I lost a clutch of chameleon eggs she buried under a plant instead of in the bin. I just returned from out of town & didn't have a chance to remove her. We found them but it had been 24 hrs in very wet dirt & they went bad. I'm very concerned about the same happening with the GTM & am seeking info from breeders. Considering moving her to a simpler enclosure (instead of him) but don't want to stress her?

@@scalesfinsfeathers5003 So I've spoken with a few breeders, and they have told me that the tree monitors will tend to seek a place to deposit eggs based on temperature. So if you can tweak your setup so that the floor is like 82 degrees, and then have a raised nest box that hits 85, they'll almost always lay in the nest box and not in the dirt on the floor of the enclosure. but obviously I've never done it so I can't say I've experienced this first hand. We do have a black tree monitor we suspect is gravid so we'll be watching her carefully! Already pulled the male out, don't worry :)

@@TheReptileBarn With all the foliage, moisture & height, the floor is in the low 80's & quite wet. I don't have gauge in the bin but the top is about 8" from 2 lights & it's about 2.5' deep so there should be a good temp gradient in there. I've seen her go in (on camera) but not very often considering the amount of exploring she does? Congratulations on the Black!! Excited for you guys.
