@@matts4240 More like a mom who feels abandoned, who lost her purpose and now desperately tries to refocus her energy onto a new goal that can give meaning to the rest of her years. The longing for that to be the reckognition of her achievements. Something that will make people see and hear her. And often enough their plan to get there will be unrealistic or they put too high expectations into a milestone they then overcommit to. That is what happened here. Sarah wants to be seen. People on television are seen. So being on television will fix her. So she will find her late life glory by doing everything to get there, even if it is careless toward herself by falling for scams or ignoring health risks. Drugs are more than a medical problem, they’re a social problem as well. Many people turn to drugs to fill the void of interpersonal connectedness that they’re missing in their lives. It’s heartbreaking seeing this woman, wanting nothing more than to be needed by someone, and her son knowing that his distance from her is partially responsible for her current state.

This Scene always makes me CRY 😢, I wasn't a drug addict, but I had problems with my mother and I thank GOD,I made amends with her and apologized to her because I didn't visit her enough, spend enough time with her. I begged for her forgiveness and she accepted my apology, that was two months before she passed away at the young Age of 74 1/2 years old in 2020. This scene always reminded me of me and my mother and how she was very alone the last couple of years of her life. Rest in Peace Mom, I love you wholeheartedly, from the bottom of my HEART ❤, you'll never be FORGOTTEN ❣️ It also breaks my heart how Ellen Burstyn never won the Academy Award for this Role in particular, especially against Julia Robert's overrated performance in "Erin Brokovich 😯👎😡⁉️
