What is the “Magic Eraser”? On Amazon as well? Wondered about using the non-sag as an “edging” to keep the self leveling somewhat contained. Great video!

The Magic Eraser is available on Amazon or at any Walmart in the cleaning product aisle. You could use the non sag to contain the self leveling sealant but it works better when you let it level out.

What made you apply it over the old vs removing the old?
@JouppiOutdoors

The old stuff was still adhered to the roof membrane very well. So for that reason, i really just needed to fill the cracks forming in the old sealant. If the sealant were peeling up from the roof, I would peel It off and then apply the new Dicor.

The brand is Dicor. There are links to both the self leveling and non-sag sealant in the video description. Thanks for watching!

Hey, great video, thanks so much for sharing! I do have a couple of questions...do you apply lap sealant first before coating the roof membrane with sealant? And, do you have to wait 30 days for curing before applying that membrane sealant? Thanks so much!

I do not apply sealant to the roof membrane. If yours requires sealant, I would suggest doing the lap sealant first. Waiting a few days in between should be sufficient.

I had Eternabond tape installed on my entire roof wherever water could get in. Front and rear cap, skylights, vents, antenna, roof ladder attach points.

Why not run a line with the same type as barrier then work your way to the barrier filling the middle 😊

It was a question not a suggestion, that is why i came here,l. To learn from you hehe

You can definitely do that. I think you would end up using more Dicor with that method. This was my first attempt at using self leveling lap sealant…there’s definitely a learning curve!

You’re welcome! It’s not difficult, just start with a vent or other small area to get a feel for how the lap sealant is to work with and you’ll do fine. Thanks for watching!

Great video! How do you usually wash that whole RV? Do you use mitts and rags, or a brush? Would love to see a video on that!

@@JouppiOutdoors Sounds great! How do you apply it? I’ve tried it a couple times on my truck, and I haven’t really gotten that good of results.

I’ve used it on the truck and really like it. I spray it on then use a wet cloth to wipe then a dry one to dry it off. If the truck is clean I’ll just spray on them wipe off.

With your caulking, have you ever worked with a spreader tip? You can get one from any of the big box stores. They're only a couple bucks. It flares out an inch or so, instead of coming out in a straight bead stream. It is nice if you have to caulk a straight edge.

I haven’t used that, sounds useful for a project like this. Thanks for the tip!
