I’m 66 and I’ve never had a beach body and I obviously have wobbly bits. I go swimming four times a week and that makes me feel good physically and mentally. I think it helps to find an exercise you enjoy and can sustain. A couple of times a week it’s outdoors so that’s even nicer.

Isn’t it awful that we even believe ourselves now that there is a “beach body” and a “non beach body” ? Even if you’re totally happy with yourself you can still feel inadequate by some nonsense standard

I am the worst person to be around in this weather, I hate it with a passion 😩🫠🥵 My joints are absolutely shot when it’s too hot or two cold. Ideally I need to live in a place that is a consistent 18C every day just to be able to get out of bed 😂 Walking is not an exercise option for me, but I do love that my Apple Watch converts wheel pushes in the same way that it does steps, it is definitely motivation to do more when possible

Oh same!! I feel like every ailment I have is exacerbated by the heat! That’s a great function to convert to steps!! Totally agree, it’s all about movement

I joined the local authority pool and attend the Everyone active aquafit class. I hate the gym & I find the class so energising. I sit for hours at desk and as it’s in water it really helps with not adding stress to my joints. The issue I’m having now is that the classes are so popular I can never get an evening space 😢 if you have the sessions at your local pool I would 100% recommend for everyone

My husband takes the same medication and we both take loratadine hayfever tablets. These are usually non drowsy and were recommended by the pharmacist. Double check with your doctor/pharmacist but he is so much better with these. He and I both struggle with dehydration because of medicine or chronic illness. To help we use water reminder apps and these have been a game changer for me. I have to drink a huge amount of water, the hospital told me how much and it is so hard but with the app it's so much easier...a kick up the butt to drink. Love this video...as I've got older, my body and I have a better relationship. It doesn't work the way it used to but we have an understanding 😜

With you on the heat thing. I'm not good in extremes of temperature. Btw there ain't nothing wrong with your body - you look like you're in great shape. Emma x

Thank you, Emma - I think the key is there’s nothing wrong with any of our bodies, is there? Someone is just making money from making us feel like we always need to be striving towards something unattainable 🤦🏻♀️

I’ve had hayfever pretty much all my life and I’ve found nasal sprays the most effective! If you’re unable to use these you can try putting a little Vaseline around the entrance of the nose.

A mantra I always keep in my planner now (eg somewhere I'll look every day) is movement for strength and sanity > vanity. As simple as it sounds, it's really helped switch my way of thinking without even trying. Absolutely normal and ok wanting to look good as well, but like you say and in my own experience too the better you feel the better you look anyway. Loving this content!

Yes!! I love that! I “exercise” so much more since shifting from the idea of formal exercise to look a certain way to MOVING MY BODY so that I can CONTINUE TO MOVE MY BODY 🤣

Personally I highly recommend a nasal spray for hayfever. I use Nasacort and it works brilliantly and doesn’t make me feel drowsy at all. Most years I only need to take it for about a week consistently and then it seems to give me some immunity and I don’t need to use it much after that.

A happy face is always more attractive. Fillers and Botox are so mainstream that I’m tempted. Yet when I see us all smile in photos my unaltered face looks more youthful than sone others. Your right .. we need to take back the narrative we hear and see.

I'm really enjoying this style of videos. Currently have COVID for the 2nd time so really not enjoying the heat 😷 Totally agree that it's about how you feel rather than how you look & I love that you want to do cartwheels in your 50s - that's a great goal!
