In this video we follow 9 year old Boer Goat, Arie, as she struggles to breathe from a sudden-onset respiratory illness. Add to the stress of this the fact that she's pregnant and due to kid in a week or two! I Include her changing symptoms as she progresses through treatment, as well as how I went about treating her. Remember - once you give an antibiotic, the animal is no longer safe for the food chain for a certain amount of time, depending on the antibiotic given. You can always cut your losses and butcher the goat if that's the more viable option. That wasn't the case here due to Arie being pregnant.

My husband and I have been farming for nearly 30 years; we've learned a LOT during that time! Despite the fact that I have a degree in Animal Science and my husband has a degree in Agricultural Science, we continue to step outside the box when it comes to animal husbandry. Our goals are to raise happy, healthy animals that can provide our family sustenance and, at times, profit. It's my pleasure to try to share some of that knowledge with you!
