Persistent attacks on Islam in the Black American community have come in large part from advocates of 'Pan-Africanism'. The blaming of Islam for slavery, contentions that Islam is an 'Arab' religion that has little connection to the variegated African cultures and traditions. Shaykh Khalil Abdur-Rashid talks briefly about some of these contentions and provides insights from a number of sources including Malcolm X.
