A few years ago I would’ve said the exact same thing. Best snacks ever. Until I went down the rabbit hole. I always thought Gatorade was good for you. It’s not! Check out the ingredient deck. And every snack is loaded with dyes that make us sick. It terrible what the FDA allies in our food. The UK has normal ingredients that you can actually pronounce. And it’s the exact same food. Like Fruit Loops. Cutting out the dyes and highly processed foods was the hardest thing ever but I’ve seen huge changes in my kids moods and behaviors. I’m seeing a lot of videos of nurses and doctors saying how bad the Takis and hot chips are. A little girl had her gallbladder removed due to the hot chips. I couldn’t believe the toxic chemicals they allow in our foods but pretend to care about our health. It’s sad.

y’all need to understand that restricting children of snacks like this, actually leads to eating problems later in life, once they’re on their own they will either heavily restrict because of their upbringing and/ or binge these foods because in their house it was always “forbidden” or “bad”. This creates a healthier relationship with food vs restricting them if it and then them having food insecurities later in life. Just because these foods are available, doesn’t mean the kids are eating them every meal or even every day. Like I said before, restricting them of these would likely cause them to OVER indulge later in life because it will condition them to moralize foods and see these as treats they never got often. This creates food security, it’s always an option, it’s not good or bad, you don’t need to over indulge, it’s always gonna be there if you want it. Not to mention, sometimes kids, especially neurodivergent kids, will only eat certain foods, so for some, it’s either these snacks, or they go hungry because it’s a safe food for them.

I see a lot of comments about the unhealthy food options. And I agree, these foods are not only killing us but also our children slowly. However, most of these foods look like they are just snack foods for her children. Which is perfectly ok. Because foods like this are fine when eaten at a moderation. When we were younger my mother had a pantry full of snack foods similar to this…Oreos, Apple Jacks, etc. It wasn’t what we ate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They were simply snacks. Especially for after school. The rest of our meals were well balanced and my mom fed us hot, home cooked meals for dinner each day. Never was overweight, diabetic, hypertensive, etc until this day. You don’t know everyone’s full story.

It’s the fact that y’all think these snacks are eaten every hour of the day 24/7 when in actuality most families who by snacks like this know they have a long shelf life and distance the times the snacks are consumed. My family has a cannot for snacks and we would eat them occasionally while they would feed us balanced meals and along with staying active
