Hello folks! Today I want to show you butcher's cleaver restoration. My friend asked me to restore this cleaver. The thing is old, I liked the design of the handle. Well, let's start the restoration.

This time I started cleaning with an anglegrinder machine. There was no rust on the surface of the blade. It was only on the tang in a small amount. There was a dent on the back of the blade, apparently they were beaten with a heavy object. Removed the excess. The shape was corrected on a belt-sanding machine. Then with the help of files and sandpaper. I cut the cutting edge, made new descents. I etched the cleaver in chlorine iron, then dipped it in water with soda. Washed with cleaning agent and oiled. I chose beech wood for the handle. I turned it on a lathe. For a more reliable fastening, I used epoxy. Sharpened on stones from 120-3000 grit. As usual, I made a test for you, I hope this restoration of the cleaver will be interesting to you.
Recipe:
Meat: beef. Salted lard.
Seasonings: Salt, black and red pepper, paprika, peas, bay leaf.
Sunflower oil. Onion, herbs to taste, garlic, potatoes.
